It's me

Here is a layout I did that was part of a class last fall. I thought I would use these pictures of me when I was a baby. They were fading and I needed to copy them before they went away completely! I really like the color of the paper with the sepia tone photos.

I am getting so excited!!! Get Scrappy is only 2 days away. What is Get Scrappy? It is a scrapbooking fundraiser that is put on to raise money for the YWCA. My friend Mary helps put it together...they work so hard all year trying to gather donations...if you want more information let me know. It is all weekend but I can only go on Friday night because I have to work on Saturday...but at least I can go! I am going to try to get a lot accomplished...will see!

For my Aunt

My mother's sisters were here visiting last week and they came over to our house to spend some time. I remembered right when they were leaving that I had scrapbook pages of our trip to Snohomish WA where one of my Aunt's lived at the time. She and her family owned a blueberry farm. It was such a beautiful place. I promised her that I would post my scrapbook pages from the visit so she could see the place again. So Aunt Gaye...this one's for you. If you want to get a closer look at things just click on the picture and you can see a close up. I am still working on my photography so I am sorry they are not the best photos.
Have a good night!

Girly Girl Easter Pails

Well this is the last of the Easter pails for this year. Another gal at work wanted one for each of her girls and one for her niece. She wanted it done so that they could use them after Easter for their crayons and coloring supplies. She wanted her girls to be done with the same paper but different embellishments. So I used two different flowers and buttons for the pink buckets. The other bucket was to be done with purple and pink and glitter. I found this great purple glitter paper and I just new that was it. It was difficult to adhere because the glitter wouldn't allow most adhesives to stick so I ended up using wonder tape. Have you tried this before? It's double sided sticky tape and it is great for projects like this. Any how we are getting ready to dye eggs while watching the Ten Commandments...always a family tradition of ours.
Have a blessed Easter...we have a lot to be thankful for!
May God Bless you and your family.
Talk to you soon!

Spouse Question Thingy...

Well Emily had this little ditty on her blog...and I thought it would be fun to participate. So to all my married friends out there give it a spin and leave me a comment here that you did it too so I can check out your answers...
What's his name? Mike.
How long have you been together? We have been married for 7 wonderful years...wahooo!
How long did you date before moving in together? We dated for 1 year and then got married...the lease was up in the apartment that I lived in about a few weeks before the wedding so we moved in then.
How old is he? 48…but he acts much younger!
Who eats more? well, me…he works his tail off at work and he tells me he forgets to eat…hello…wish I had that problem!
Who said I love you first? I did…in fact one night we were out looking at the stars and I said “I’m gonna marry you someday”
Who is taller? He is but only by an inch. When I have big hair you can’t even tell he is taller…too funny!
Who is smarter? I would say that is 50/50…we pretty much help each other out on everything…most everything at our house is a battle of the minds…
Who does laundry? It just depends. Mike usually does the laundry but stuff started shrinking…you can’t dry everything on regular…hello…so I started doing it…but he has been following the drying rules pretty good. He puts everything away that goes in drawers…I put everything away that needs to be hung up.
Who does the dishes? Mike usually loads the dishwasher in the morning and the girls unload after school…I fill in where needed. Nice huh?
Who pays the bills? We split the bills…I have my share and he has his. We were both married before so we were used to doing this ourselves so this is a great compromise.
Who mows the lawn? He mows the lawn…he loves it…he calls it his therapy.
Who cooks dinner? Me…when I am really tired he will jump in and do it though.
Who drives when you are together? He always drives.
Who kissed who first? Pretty mutual thing.
Who asked out who first? He asked me out.
Who proposed? He proposed to me. So sweet…his daughter was turning 15 at the time…he told her he was going to ask me to marry him at dinner. She was so excited. In fact after dinner she was calling all her friends saying “My dad is getting married!” He had been single for 10 years and the kids were worried about him being lonely. Sweet huh?
Who has more siblings? He has 3 brothers…one of them passed away about 10 years ago. I have one sister.
Who wears the pants in the family? Duh…me.

Gotta have some boy Easter Pails too!

I made these cute little numbers for one of the girls at work. She has 2 boys and her husband simply will not have his boys running around with the cutesie little Easter pail I made a few weeks ago so here is what I came up with. I think they turned out pretty darn cute. I personalized them with their name by using my Cricut and the Alphalicious cartridge. The handles still looked a little plain to me so I tore apart some jute rope I had laying around and tied that on. I thought it added just the right boyish touch. The patterned paper is one of the new Bobunny lines.
And for some very exciting news...one of my good friends just started her blog...I've only been nagging her for months...amoung other people I know (cough...JoEtta) **wink**. So anyway share the love and check it out. She is still working on her blog so I am sure she will have lots of fun things posted soon!
Well thanks for peeking in...talk to you soon!

She's a Betty...

Here is a LO I did last week on break of Sidney. This wash the year she got her Easy Bake Oven. She made us chocolate chip cookies. Our little doggie (Gabby) wanted one so bad. She just sat there staring at us licking her chops. Yep...I am still playing catch up, these pics were from 2005. I just signed up (with the help of Nikki) today for Get Scrappy. A scrap fundraiser put on to benefit the YWCA. I can only go on Friday night (3/29) but I am getting ready now...I want to get a bunch done. Keep your fingers crossed! Take care...tomorrow is already Wednesday!

I am 30ish...

This layout is from my 30th birthday party...what a hoot! My husband took me out to dinner the night before my birthday and when we got home it was dark outside but I could tell there was something in the yard. So I got out of the car to check things out better and noticed there were bras all over the yard...they were sewn together in a huge string and they went from the mailbox to the house to the trees and in the middle of the yard was a sign that said Honk if you support Toni on Her 30th Birthday. The next day our whole family came over for an "over the hill" party. It was fun...man it is nice to be loved!

The End of A Fabulous Week

Well friends it has been a great week off from work! I have enjoyed my kids and we even had a mini vacation. I can say however, that I am not ready to go back to work. I could really get used to this stay at home gig! I got some good scrappin done this week. Here is a layout of me and the girls in 2005...I used one of those new Bazzill paper flowers and a little bit of brown ink on the edges of the flower as a simple page embellishment. Thanks for checkin in today. Hope your week is great! Keep smilin'!

Spring Break...thus far

Hey there. So far we have been having a very fun spring break. The weather is beautiful! What a blessing! I usually take the week of spring break off to spend qt with my girls. We always have a good time but it is usually pretty cold and most of the time we have snow. But this year is very different! I opened the windows in the house yesterday and today! Love that fresh air...maybe spring is around the corner? Any way we decided to take a mini trip to KC and stay at the Great Wolf Lodge! Wahoo...that place is so much fun! Mike's daughter lives in KC so we asked her to come and spend the day with us at the water park. We started out by eating lunch in the Legends area at Cheeseburger in Paradise...Yummy! Then we checked into the Lodge and played until 8ish. We went down to the Plaza and at at Buco de Beppo...what a cool place! I love Italian food and places like this are even more fun to eat at because it give you the sense that this place has been around since Sinatra and others like him. We did find out that the place had only been there about 6 years but they did an incredible job decorating! Check out the size of that meatball!! So here are a few photos. I couldn't get any pics of the kids at the water park because I didn't want to take my camera in there and just leave it on a table and risk it getting stolen! Thanks for stopping in!

Fall Layout

Here is a layout that I put together a few weeks ago and just finished up on the embellishing today. I used the Fabulous Finds Cricut cartridge for the hinges and the font is the Tear Drop cartridge. The paper is Basic Grey...love this line! I might not be blogging for a few days. The kids are on spring break this week and I took off to spend some time with them. We are off to do some fun things with them tomorrow and Monday. So I am sure I will have some fun things to post soon. Have a great week!

Easter Pail

What a better way to welcome the Easter Bunny then by having a cute little pail that he can put goodies into right? This project is very inexpensive and turns out so cute! You can pick up the paint can at your local hardware store, I got mine at Ace Hardware for $2.50! A couple sheets of 12x12 patterned paper and one sheet of coordinating cardstock and your set. Cut the paper for the bottom of the pail 5 1/2" x 12" (cut two this size to go around the pail). The handles pop off fairly easy (the tricky part can be getting it back in...you have to hold your head to the side and bite your tounge and try not to blurt out naughty words...LOL!) and a 3/4" circle punch will cut perfect holes to go around the knobs where you insert the handle. Embellish any way you want...turns out cute every time! I made one for my sis for her birthday with Coca-Cola paper...she loved it! Well I just got home, gotta tuck the kiddos in and say prayers. Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

My scrappin space

Well gals here it is...this is my scrappin space. It is in the basement, and we have one of those older homes where the basement has those teeny tiny windows so I wanted a space that was cheery and didn't remind me that I was down there. So here we go. The first picture is my desk....am I spoiled? Well, maybe just a tad...the second picture is my girls space. They have their own space and their own stuff. They are pretty respectful of mom's space too. The last picture is the closet that I converted to more of an organized storage area. So any how now you have an idea of where my crafty things come to life. Thanks for peeking in!

Whitney's Birthday

Happy Birthday Whitney! Today Whitney is 22. She came down this weekend to celebrate her birthday with us. Saturday night we went to dinner at a new restaurant on the West side of town...Pei Wei. It is very similar to PF Chang's...in fact it is owned by PF Chang's but they do things a little different. The ordering is very similar to Panera Bread...you stand in line and place your order then you go sit down and they bring your food to you. Very yummy food! There were 7 of us that ate dinner for $65! Can you believe that? We had a great time.
