Bike A Bella

Here is a pretty little gal that I colored up tonight. I just got this lovely a few weeks ago and thought she needed some ink. The cherry paper was a scrap paper from another project last year...see girls I am trying to be good and use up my scraps! I didn't do anything fancy color wise with her. I used water color pencils and instead of a blender pen I used odorless mineral spirits to blend my colors. I really like that better than the blender pens. I put a small dot of stickles in the center of the flowers on her shirt and the bow in the doggie's hair to bling her up a bit. Hope you are all having a good week. I plan on getting some scrappin' done this long holiday weekend! Can you believe it is already Labor Day? Me neither! Talk to you soon!

Birthday Booklet

Here is a fun little project that I did last night. I made this little book for my mom as a memory of her birthday this year. This is such a simple and inexpensive project and is very versatile. The color concept came from the sticker sheet that I found, they had all these great blue, green and browns and I matched my papers up with them. The base of the booklet is made from half a sheet of 12x12 cardstock cut in 4 6x3 inch pieces. I chose 3 different patterned papers (12x12) that complemented each other and only used about half of each one of them. Then I threw in a few buttons, ribbons and small tags and presto! fun book! Thanks for checkin in on me! Hope you're having a great week so far!

Snappy Chick

Check out these lovely little gals! I got these a few weeks ago and have been dying to ink them up. I actually got the idea of paper piecing them together from Whimsey! The girl is full of the most fun ideas! You can check her blog out here. I made these little gals yesterday but I couldn't post them until today as I made one for a friend who has a difficult day ahead of her on Friday and I just wanted her to know I have been and will be thinking of her on Friday. I didn't want to give her a sad mushy card...I wanted a great fun card just like her!

Well the girls started school today. Haley's in 8th Grade and Sidney's in 5th. They had nice things to say about their teachers so I think that is a good start so far! There have been years that the first day has been tough. Thank goodness this isn't one of them! Thanks for checkin in on me! I will talk to you chicks later!

Hoddie

This is a picture of the girls with one of their favorite teachers Miss Hood aka Hoodie, as the kids call her! She is such a wonderful teacher. She brought so many new and fun things to the kids, she really opened their minds to how fun learning can be. I am not really a one picture to a page kind of girl but sometimes you just gotta! I was so excited to use the new SU rub-ons! They are great quality. I have gotten some rub-ons before that were just terrible and wouldn't come off on the paper. That really makes me mad because that stuff is expensive! Anyway SU has done a great job with their rub-ons...so if you don't have them you should check them out...in fact they just came out with a whole bunch of new ones in the new winter catalog! I used the Fiskars Threading Water scalloped punch for the bottom paper...just love the way that looks!
Well thanks for peekin' in. I am headin' out the door to go to dinner with my sis...Mike is out on the golf course...such a beautiful evening it would be a waste not to. Besides I scrapbook...therefore he golfs!

Family Memories...someone else's anyway

Here are a few pages that I scrapbooked for a friend of my sister's. Isn't her little guy so cute? I primarily used the Basic Grey lines. It is funny when you make your self think outside the box what you can come up with. For instance the base of the last two pages are from the Basic Grey line Archaic, which has a lot of earth tones and dinosaurs...but this little green plaid works perfect for a Christmas page like this one! I love it! The more you scrapbook the better your creative mind gets! I haven't done much for myself in the past year since I have been teaching at the store and I realized...about the time that I went to the Yoder crop that I really miss doing things for myself. I guess that is why I have been on such a "me" roll lately with my pages.
Wanna hear a funny story? I thought you might! I had a glass of wine the other night before bed...sometimes you just need that little glass to relax...anyway I was sitting there watching TV and finishing my glass and decided my toenails needed some attention. So I got up and got the polish and cotton and polish remover and asked Mike if he would paint my toes...HE DID! It was too cute! Haley got pictures of it too. I guess he thinks I have been through a lot with him this year! *wink* So he can cook a mean meatloaf and polish toenails.

Man am I lucky!
Have a good one girls!

BUGZ!

Here is a fun layout that I cased (with my own tweaks) from a Canadian magazine called Scrapbook & Cards Today. This is Sidney's 2nd Grade program called BUGZ! It was so cute! All the kids dressed up as different bugs. The photo on the 2nd page lower left is a picture of stink bugs! What a crack up! They had dirty socks and play food glued to their shirts, along with dirty faces and messy hair...they cracked me up! Sidney was the dragonfly! We made her wings from bent hangers and pantyhose. Then we painted them to match her outfit! I found this great box of glittery bugs by Scrapworks that was perfect! Anyway needless to say I had this layed out for the last 2 years! Talk to you chicks later!

Christmas...in August?

Well, not really this is what I picked to scrapbook last night. This picture was taken at the girls school in December of 2005. They had a school event and The Clauses stopped in for a photo op. I used fascinator staples, the Christmas variety, to staple on the edges of the white then tied some red ribbon between each staple.
We finished up some school shopping today... why is it that tennis shoes are so darn expensive even on sale? I just can't seem to get out of the store with out spending $100 these days! There are certain times of the year that my checkbook runs away from me and that is usually August and December! Any way... the rest of the day we scrapbooked in the back room at Scrapbook Garden East. It was a nice way to spend a day with the girls before they head back to school next Monday. Well girls...here's to ya havin' a good week this week!

Cheese!

Here is Sidney's Third Grade picture. Both of the flowers are Heidi Swapp, the smaller one was white but I used my SU Tempting Turquoise pad to dye it! I am now caught up on her school pictures! The school picture from last year is still in the frame in the hall way so when they take pictures this year I will scrapbook that one and put in the new one.
I decided about 3 years ago to make both of the girls their own scrapbook of memories through out their school years. I bought new scrapbooks for each one of them a few weeks ago. This was a major purchase because I don't think scrapbooks are something that you should scrimp on. After all they take a majority of the abuse though the years. I needed books that would expand quite a bit (Haley's is already 3 inches thick!). I found a couple of really good quality albums by We R Memory Keepers, post bound and leather. The ones they had previously didn't expand far enough. As it looks right now I may have to make 2 books for each one of them (does this mean I take too many pictures?)
Well...thanks for checkin in on me! Later friends!

Bella Latte

This is one of my newest Bella Girls...Java Bella (thanks to an order Ms. Nikki placed a while ago *wink*). I used a few new tools on this little gal. First of all I colored her using Twinkling H20's, that is what is in those little pots next to the card. They are so much fun to play with! Mary and Nikki got me stuck on these fun little coloring tools (thanks for enabling me girls!). The little pillow on the chair she is sitting on is lime green flocking by doodlebug. You can't tell from this picture but it is fuzzy to the touch. Very cool! This stuff comes in all kinds of colors and it totally rocks! Now the scalloped circles were done using Nestablities. I just got these yesterday at Scrappin Time in Derby. I couldn't wait to use them! They are so much fun.
Yesterday Sidney and I had so much fun. We went to the movie Kit Kittredge. If you haven't seen this with your little girls you should go. If you missed it in your area it is definitely a must rent! We laughed and cried and laughed some more! Good flick! Then like the girls that we are we headed to a scrapbook store in Derby. I don't get over that way much because it is so far from my house. She had some fun different things that I didn't see at my usual scrap hang outs so it was really worth the drive.
Well chicks...check in with me later...I have some fun pics to post!

Third Grade...oh me oh my!!!

That's right girls...I am catchin' up here! This was Sidney's class photo from the year before last. How fun is this? I found this fun pencil paper and Third Grade stickers and thought it was so much fun! I absolutely loved Sidney's teacher that she had this year. She was a scrapbooker too! So of coarse we had a lot in common!
I am taking the day off tomorrow and Monday. Haley is up visiting her grandparents on her dad's side so Sidney and I are going to have a good time just the two of us. We are going to see the movie Kit Kittredge...based on the American Girl books and we just may do some scrapbooking tomorrow.
Have a FABULOUS FRIDAY FRIENDS!

Cutie Patootie

Here are some fun pictures of Sidney at summer camp's parent night. She was awarded the friendliest camper award. She also was one of 12 campers that received a medal for memorizing all of the weekly bible verses! Woot Woot!! Good job Sid! The theme for the evening was "Secret Agents finding Jesus everywhere!" so that is why she is wearing a "disguise!

Thanks for peekin' in today!

Happy Birthday Friend

This was a birthday card that I made for a special friend of mine. This was the first time that I used SU's Pink Pomegranate and I love how vibrant the color is! I used another smaller flower stamp in a light green color here and there between the larger flowers and topped it off by rounding the edges.
Hope you have a great week!

Oh Snap!

These pictures just crack me up. One afternoon Haley was messing around with this halloween wig that we have and I thought it would be funny to take some pictures. The patterned paper is by Elsie Love and I thought the colors were a nice complement to the photos. I couldn't resist when I found this rub on that said Oh Snap!! I thought it was perfect. I have been looking for this Fiskars punch called threading water (it will punch the scallops and holes all at the same time) and one day in Hobby Lobby there it was...singing out to me...Toni I am right here waiting for you to put me in your shopping basket...I couldn't leave the little guy alone...afterall he was the only one on the shelf!

Well girls I am getting a big dent put in my scrapbooking...since the retreat last week I have finished 40 pages! Holy Cow A Moly! Can you believe this?
Have a wonderful weekend. Talk to you soon!

Arggg Matey!

Yep...that's me this past halloween! All of the administrative assistants on my floor at work decided to dress up as pirates. We had such a great time! I thought the beard and mustache was a great touch...it was so funny...when my boss would come out to give me work to do he kept laughing and said he couldn't have a serious conversation with me...why not? The gals on the 2nd page are friends from another department. They were flies and their boss was the spider...pretty cute huh?
