Halloween Page Layout

All I have to say is thank goodness it is Friday! I am going to try to paint our living room ceiling this weekend. We have one of those old "popcorn" sprayed ceilings and I have heard that it can be rather difficult to get this done. But I am going to try. I went to Lowes and had a nice little chat about the right kind of roller to use with the very nice man working behind the paint counter. He told me to use this special little sponge roller with slits in it...apparently it is for very bumpy surfaces. So wish me luck. I will let you know how this turns out.

This is a Halloween page that I finished this week. This was 2007 Haley was the nurse and Sidney was Major Flirt...at least that is what it said on her costume! Don't you just love the blond wig? How about those red hornrim glasses! LOL! And yes...that is me...the pirate! I wore this to work for the whole day. That darn mustache was so itchy! My boss said he couldn't even look at me seriously with out laughing! You should have seen me try to eat my sandwich at lunch with that thing! Anyway....about the page. The base is Cardinal Red card stock from Bazzill. That is quite possibly my favorite red from Bazzill because it is so versatile. The green card stock is also from Bazzill but I can't remember the name of the color. Isn't that funny how you mind works? I am told it gets worse as we get older. Hum. The patterned paper is a Halloween line by Karen Foster. Do you like that little waive on the lower part of the page? I used the Creative Memories cutting system for that.

Here is a close up of the title letters. Sorry the picture is a little bit blurry. The letters are adhesive backed cork board letters from Hobby Lobby. I thought they would look better a shimmery blackish color so I used Granite colored Glimmer Mist to achieve this look. It took about 4 applications until I got the result I was looking for. I was so excited about how they turned out. This Glimmer Mist stuff is way cool. I think I may have to go get some more alphabet letters to spray!

This is a close up of the rubons and little bit of bling that I added. The rub ons I have had for quite a while but I know I picked them up at Walmart. I added them to the corners and on a few of the photos too. The brad embelly is from Michael's, it was in a Halloween set by Making Memories.
Well Thanks for peekin' in on me. I will keep you posted on my painting adventures! Have a great Saturday!

Your layouts ROCK 'da house!!! Love all the details you add. Just think, my kids will be grown and their pictures will STILL be in a box!!

Seriously, I know you do layouts for people and I'm one of those dorks that likes to put lots of pictures on each page - not just one or two...

How much do you charge? I'm checking to see if I can afford you!! :D

Dad is doing much better, thank you for asking. They will discontinue the cancer treatments as their not sure if his problems were from those treatments or another OTC medicine he took. Regardless, it was so very scary! Upon his last exam the cancer was gone; he has another exam this week to see if that's still the case. They'll continue to monitor for the return of the cancer every 3 months and if it does return, they'll decide what to do...probably not the same drug that just quit using as that caused a lot of problems.

Anyway...enough ramling. Hugs my friend!

I don't know how I missed that you had blogged! Maybe it was when I was in Arkansas...but anyway I love your layout and I like Bazzill's Cardinal too followed closely by Kisses!

How did painting the ceiling go? Mark did that with that slitted roller on the ceilings in Wichita. These ceilings have the same stuff on it too so we'll be using it again I'm sure!
