Fun little book

Here is a little book that I put together for a friend at work because she had helped me work on a project and I appreciated her help so much. She has 2 grandsons and I thought she would like the colors of this new Bobunny paper. I used regular mailing envelopes for the base of this project and the last photo shows you the inserts that slide into the pocket of the envelope. I started working on this before Mike had his heart attack and put a few finishing touches on it last night. Needless to say she loved it!
Just to give you an update on our family...Mike is doing great! He's getting stronger every day. He can be up and about for longer periods of time with out getting so worn out. But we had a long talk tonight about doing too much too soon and wearing himself out. He has promised me that he is going to take things easy and really listen to his body. He gets to drive tomorrow. He just can't wait to drive himself somewhere again! It is really hard not to worry constantly about him. I just have to give it up to the Lord or I will make myself nuts worrying about things. Thanks for peeking in, hope you're having a fabulous week!

Thank You Cards

It is hard to put into words how much we felt everyone's love for us. A simple thank you doesn't seem to measure up but here are a few I have been working on. This first one is for the doctor that saved Mike. I found the perfect stamp, in the corner it reads "Once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes Everything" isn't that perfect? I thank God for the gifts that he has given this man. He had a wonderful bedside manner and he was very thorough, which was a great comfort. Thanks for peeking in!
I am heading back to work at Scrapbook Garden tomorrow so I am working on a class project for May. I will be posting them soon so stay tuned!
Happy Friday!

Update

Hi friends! Mike didn't end up coming home as I stated on my last post because his body wasn't responding to his medication, simply meaning that he was still at risk to develop a blood clot. So the doctor kept him in and ran numerous other tests and added Coumidon to the growing list of meds. Then a few days later they told us that he had a a blood clot that traveled through his heart and landed in his lungs. Then the doctor told us that it is really a miracle that he is still alive from this episode but simply everything else he had been through. (They called him an anomaly!) They did some tests to make sure that there weren't any blood clots developing in his legs and there weren't so that was good. They said the clot that went through his heart was left over from the initial heart attacks and had just been roaming around in his veins and eventually landed in his lungs. Sheesh...the Lord was watching over him! It just sends shivers down my spine! But we were dismissed on Friday evening and have been home resting since. I went ahead and took this week off too so that we could get settled in and get back into a routine. There are so many things to do. I had to get medications and start looking a new food options as we have to stick to a low sodium diet. Holy cow...there is a lot of sodium in things! So I will be heading back to work this coming Monday. He still won't be able to drive so I will have a series of friends and family checking in on him. God love him, he is doing so great. Just taking things one day at a time. Thank you all for your love and support! We couldn't have gotten through this with out it! Don't forget to give your loved ones an extra squeeze and remind them how important they are to you.
I will be posting some thank you cards soon. I have been working on them here and there through out the week. Thanks for checking in on us!

We are coming home!!!!

This song you are hearing (Its your love) is dedicated to my hubby...
Well it has been a rough week but we are coming home tomorrow! I can't wait to get Mike home and set up here at home. You just can't sleep right in the hospital and now that he is out of ICU I really don't think he is getting the very best care. We pressed the call button for the nurse tonight and no one came, so after about 20 minutes I went out to the desk and asked who our nurse was because no one came and he was ready for me to help him take his shower but he needed to be disconnected from all the heart monitors...the old chickie at the desk gave me a dirty look and kept doing her paper work and the younger one said oh that's Ted I will call him. Well Ted never came and a really nice girl came but we told her that the call light was still on and he still hadn't come. HELLO PEOPLE! HE JUST HAD 2 HEART ATTACKS A WEEK AGO!!!! So we quizzed this little gal and asked what happens if he gets into a distress situation, and presses the button and no one comes? She said they have him hooked up to monitors and that if something happened they would be right there. Humm...ya think? At least we are going home tomorrow. I know I can do a better job than that! Any way...thank you to everyone for all your good thoughts and prayers! We are on the road to recovery!

Update on my hubby

Mike is doing so much better! He had the balloon pump removed the day before yesterday. This was under his aorta and helping to supporting his heart as it was over taxed by the heart attacks. They also backed him off the IV meds and started giving his meds to him orally. He was able to get out of bed and stand; his legs were very shaky as he had not used them for 3 days. Slowly, he was able to stand and walk around his room. They got him to sit up for several hours and he started eating solid food. Today they removed the rest of the IV's and is able to get up and walk down the hall. During this process he developed fluid on his lungs so they have begun giving him medicine to help reduce that. He has passed the 72 hour "window of worry" and they are ready to put him out in a regular room on the hospital floor. They think that he may be able to come home on Wed or Thurs of this week! I want to tell everyone thank you for praying for us I know that he is here because of all of the prayers. God is so good! I didn't leave his side for 3 days and all of the emotions of everything caught up with me yesterday. I had only had about 10 hours of sleep in 4 days and thought since he was stable I should go home and get some rest...spend some time with my kids other than just seeing them in the hospital. It was good that I got away. I feel much better today. I need to stay positive; we have a lot of changes a head of us with diet and exercise. I can do anything through he that strengthens me! Thanks for checking on us! Keep us in your prayers.

The heart of my heart....

Hi friends. I have been in the hospital with my husband this week. He had 2 major heart attacks on Wednesday morning. After suffering from them his heart was very weak and he coded on us, twice, they brought the crash carts out and revived him and thank the Lord in heaven I still have this man to love on this earth! He is still in CICU and probably will be for a few more days. I appreciate all your prayers and kind words as we work towards recovery. We have been blessed with many special friends and I want you to know I thank God for each and everyone of you. Please keep Mike in your prayers as we still have a ways to go before we are ready to go home.

Hey there....

Just me. I am feeling a little blue tonight. Don't know why. So I thought I would go to the grocery store and pick up a double fudge box of brownies. Yup that was pretty tasty. I am training a new gal in my office. I have been the only administrative assistant to 5 officers for the last 4 years and have been totally overloaded with work that it is pretty stressful at times. We all know that I have needed some help for quite some time and my boss decided that it was time. So we hired this really great gal. I really like her. Today was her first day and I think everything is going to be great but I am fighting feelings of fear of the unknown. You know like now I won't be "the one" to take care of everything. Sometimes it is hard for me to let go and let someone else help. So anyway. Just wanted to let you know I had a two brownie day...with frosting. Hope your having a good week so far...:) Thanks for letting me vent. I will leave you with a picture that makes me smile.

Robotics

I am still working on photos from 2005 but I am slowly catching up! Here is a layout I completed this weekend. Haley was competing with her school in Robotics. It is put on by the Engineering Department at WSU. The kids learned a lot about team work and how to help each other out and resolve problems with out an adult. On the day of competition the teachers and parents cound't help the kids, they had to do it on their own. Basically they had to program their little machines to run 3 different missions. I am so glad that she participated in this. Her teacher was so much fun. I still keep in touch with her! Hope you have a great week this week!

Family

I wanted to do something nice for my sister in law for her birthday. Something different and unique. I called my niece Dana (one of her daughters), who has an interest in photography, to get some shots of her family. I saw these canvas collages in scrapbook magazines and thought I could probably put something like that together myself. So Dana brought her camera and we went to work printing the photos. The canvas is a regular paint canvas that I picked up at Michaels. It is pretty big...3 ft x 2 1/2 ft. I used a lot of patterned paper in the same line and a ton of rubber cement to anchor everything in place. I kinda put my own spin on things by adding the light weight photo frames for all the different photos. Between all the paper I used an acrylic paint to blend everything together and camouflage the white from the canvas. This was such a fun project and it was something that we could do together. Needless to say my sister in law loved it. It hangs in their living room and I hear that they get a lot of compliments. If you want to see the detail a little better just click on the photo.
Hope your having an awesome weekend!

Billie's Blossoms

This is one of the layouts I did at the Get Scrappy weekend...I will have pictures for you guys in a bit...we took them with Nikki's camera...so chickie...email me :) Any how this is a layout of a mother's day gift all of the grandkids gave my mother in law. What do you get a gal that has everything? We gave her a homemade certificate that said the grandkids would plant the flowers in her flower beds. The flower pot and sunflowers are from the Walk In My Garden cricut cartridge...it was so perfect. I can't wait to use that cartridge again!
